Who Am I?

Hi, I'm Dimitri. I'm a JavaScript web developer based in Paris, France. I work at a medium-sized B2B SAAS company, in a team of 6 web developers.

Some facts about me:

  • I was born and lived the first 18 years of my life in Guadeloupe, a French Caribbean archipelago. A very beautiful place.
  • My MBTI profile is ISTJ. I'm a logistician. I like things organized and structured.
  • I worked 10 years in the marketing field before becoming a web developer in my mid thirties. Just like T-Pain is a Rappa Ternt Sanga, I'm a marketer turnt web developer.

My projects

Everyday, I work on 2 (side) projects:

  1. SoMuZay: a music database focused primarily on Rap and R&B music videos for now. SoMuZay is the manifesto of my passion for music and of my obsession for tidiness. I've been listening to lots of music since my teenage years and I still do. On SoMuZay, I add 5 new Rap and R&B music videos per week. I also add all of the music videos and music projects of an artist, one at a time. The goal is to have the most complete database. It is an ambitious project, but I love doing it. I also get to use my JavaScript skills to automate tasks whenever I can. This includes mostly making HTTP requests to different APIs.
  2. MisterDa: a website with exercises for (aspiring) JavaScript web developers. I learnt how to program quite late, at the age of 33. It was challenging. I managed to get through because I learnt the fundamentals thanks to Launch School. But just like sport, web development is a game requiring practice to stay fit and sharp. While there are many courses, bite-sized (and useful) exercises are rare. This is why I created MisterDa: to have sets of exercises that JS web developers (including me) can train and learn with.
